Studio Fuksas creates a project for the New International Congress Center in Jerusalem

Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas have been selected to design the new International Congress Center (ICC) for Jerusalem. The project is in the “City Gateway” and is part of the expansion of Jerusalem’s central business district. The new building will be sited around the existing Ussishkin Hall Building, which will be redesigned to host international shows and conferences. That is going to make Jerusalem ICC the largest congress center in the Middle East. The ICC project will include the Congress Center, a 800 room hotel, a multi-storey office building, two 36-storey business towers, residences, ground floor retail outlets, underground parking and a large square called the ICC Plaza. The site will be easily accessible for pedestrians, cyclists, cars and also via public transport. Important part of the project is the sustainability in terms of energy saving, the life cycle of products and the healthiness of the interior spaces. The use of local stone for the facades makes the project integrated into it’s surrounding context.
