Interarch 2012 | exhibition-competition of architectural projects and built works

 

This 12th day of May 2012, the International Jury appointed in accordance with the rules of lnterarch-Sofia, the Thirteenth World Triennial of Architecture has held its session. The Jury Members:

The International Jury has noted that a total of 162 Projects and Built Works have been submitted from 11 countries from almost all-geographical regions of the world. The presented works reflected all the architectural problems of our time and fully accorded with the ideas of the Tenth World Triennial of Architecture. Many architects took part in this exhibition-competition. Taken as a whole, their works made a great contribution to the advancement of the world architecture both on a theoretical and a philosophical level.

A total of 162 architectural projects and built works took part.

The Jury has remarked that the Exhibition-Competition is a contribution by architects from all over the world in their efforts to create a harmonious habitat, to provide the architectural heritage with contemporary values, to protect the environment, and to maintain a human scale in the process of modern construction.

The Jury has expressed their gratitude to the International Academy of Architecture, The Union of Bulgarian Architects and the University of Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Sofia, for the excellent organization and the professional atmosphere in which the session has been held.

The presented projects have been analyzed in detail and have been carefully discussed and in accordance with the announced Prizes, The International Jury:

Exhibition-competition of Books and Magazines on Architecture

Protocol of the international jury decisions

The exhibition will display books and magazines on architecture published after 2008. The exhibition profiled 33 publications in architecture which were provided from over ten countries worldwide. The International Jury has articulated the items in two categories:

  1. Architecture Periodicals, published on a certain cycle of time, like magazines, catalogues of periodical exhibitions and prize selections, and
  2. Architecture Monographs, publish as unique professional publications in the field of Architecture Theory, Criticism and philosophy.

– FIRST PRIZE AND GOLDEN MEDAL to the magazine DETAIL, published by Institute for Internationale Architektur, Munchen, Germany, for the most comprehensive publication, covering widest diapason between the conceptual and the practical in architecture;
– TWO SILVER MEDALS –  to the Challenge of Time, a periodical profile catalogue of the Iakov Chernikhov Prize for Young Architects worldwide, published by ICIF, Moscow, Russia; and
