On May 13, 2018 in Sofia was held the XIII General Assembly of the International Academy of Architecture (IAA) which elected the new President of the IAA, Vice presidents, members of the Academic Council and announced Acad. Georgi Stoilov (founder of the IAA) as an Honorary President of the Academy.

During the General Assembly was decided to organize Interarch as a Biennial event instead of Triennial and the next edition will be in 2020. The IAA members also elected the new IAA Academicians and Professors. The Academy has in total with the new elected members – 72 Academicians and 112 Professors.
