Jean Nouvel’s Monad Terrace has officially topped out

The IAA Academician Jean Nouvel and his team in collaboration with Kobi Karp are expecting their project, Monad terrace in Miami, to be completed in the Fall of 2019. The project sets a new standard of building integrity and climate resilience for the city.

The Lobby level has been raised 11.5 feet off the surface of West Avenue, so that all interior spaces are located significantly over flood plain levels.

Glare and heat gain will be reduced by a special “honeycomb” screen, built into the glass curtain wall system and all that without blocking views. Native vegetation across the site and up the balconied elevation, the water garden, consisting of a central man-made lagoon, a 116-foot swimming pool, and several reflection pools, are providing further cooling and air quality. This special atmosphere, created by the combination of light and water, glass and steel, gardens and facades is called by Nouvel “the reflection machine”.

Inside, 59 residences will have interiors also designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel. Four penthouse units will include their own private pools on their roof decks. А cafe and juice bar, a wellness center, bicycle,a water sports storage and valet on-site parking are also going to find place in Monad terrace.

Situated on West Avenue in the premier South Beach district of Miami Beach, this project brings the ingenuity and design that is entirely appropriate to this environment without compromising aesthetics.
